hi all..
i thinking of upgrading absorber + spring for my B310 for better handling,
but i cant find any performance suspension parts that suit directly to a B310, so i need to ask something..

1. is the front and rear absorber of B310 similar to any other car? If there is similarity with some car i might have a chance to find performance absorber for that particular car and can fit directly into my B310.

2. if there is no exact similar, what is the closest B310 absorber to another car? i mean the least i need to modify the mounting place (top and bottom) to get it fit into a B310, with original height

3. or if there's any particular make and model of absorber can fit directly into my B310?

4. not related.. is it B310 first car from datsun that fit with rear coil spring + absorber combi? before B310 all rear is leaf?

hope someone can help.

thanks

The Z cars had rear struts/springs from 1970 on. Not sure before that.

Talk to feral here (or contact him through www.datrats.com.au). He can get King springs for the B310, maybe some struts/shocks also not sure. I've seen aftermarket struts/shocks on ebay periodically, normally real cheap ($30 per pair roughly). Can't remember if they were front or rear.

Also if you're in the US, www.rockauto.com lists several struts and shocks for the B310. KYB for the front and back and some other cheaper ones. They only have front springs though, not sure of the brand.

Good luck. Suspension is what I'll probably tackle on my B310 after my engine rebuild is finished so post here if you find something interesting.

maybe the best way to find other shock absorbers for the b310 is to measure the lengths of the rear shocks when they're in the car, plus the length & diameter of the strut inserts.then take that information along to a
suspension shop,while it's quiet,& see if the
people there can find something around the same measurements & with the same way of mounting.this might get you something close you can use.don't forget to thank the suspension person by buying the stuff from him.

the best performance absorber for a B310 would be a boot full of heavy speakers, and some big heavy 19" rims.
that should absorb nearly all your performance, especially if your sunny is an A12 model...

sorry, I meant get some new konis or something good matched to suit from a good suspension shop that actually build suspension for race cars etc and know what they're doing
