I got me a 120Y swaybar today, to replace the empty space in my ute, cost me a locked ute diff centre.
Reading tech section/old posts, everyone says to use the mounts from the 120Y, I got these, but they mount differently.
The 120Y uses a plate with 2 bolts mounted in it that comes down through the chassis and then goes through the 'U' shaped piece, whereas the 1200 appears to bolt upwards into captive nuts in the chassis tube?

I assume 1200 mounts wouldnt fit around the swaybar... or should I get 1200 mounts and cut out the bush to make it fit?

any comments/answers appreciated.

I used 1200 bushes. I cut them in half and filed abit of rubber out of the middle and they fit over the 120y bar perfectly.

strange, i've seen it done both ways, i forgot to get the mounts off the 120y so just used the 1200 bush cut up a bit, that was fine

but also seen the 120y mounts used no problem, they were just a bigger version of the 1200 ones, no major difference, obviously there is two differnet mounting systems on 120ys....

ah well no biggy, just chop the 1200 rubber, would be nice to get nolethane ones while your at it (for the link pins aswell), if you have some spare cash of course

now why the f*ck didnt I think of that?

Thats what I'll do, but I dont have the original bolts, but then thats the beauty of datsuns, I'll scab some bolts from somewhere less needing on the car

Its in now, piece of piss. I did end up getting Nolathane bushes for it, and I can honestly say its better to drive with a 120Y swaybar than no swaybar at all.

see photos for next problem on list.
