Coupe vs Sedan

I have been looking for a 1200 coupe and ran across a decent 2-dr sedan for a good price. This particular sedan has a tach which I thought was available only in the coupes. Was it an option on the sedan? (It's a 1971)

Is there any more room in the sedan vs the coupe? I'm sure there is more headroom in the back seat, but I was wondering if the front is maybe roomier somehow?

Thanks in advance for your help. If anyone has a nice coupe in the Western US, let me know!

Hi Duncan - there is more front seat room in the coupe. I am 6'3" and fit great in the coupe, feel crunched in the 4 door sedan and can't move in the ute. Good luck with your decision!

I have a 72 coupe and it didn;t have a tach, instead it had a clock. But clock is gone now and aftermarket tach sets in it's place. So I don't know about the options .

Hi:

There is a coupe on Ebay, although it is in Missouri. It's only up to $800 right now with one bid. I am dying to find a 2dr sedan to buy. Although I am located in South Carolina, it wouldn't be a big deal. If you do not purchase it, would you be willing to share some information? There was a site member, I think ddgonzal, who was selling a blue coupe in Washington. I don't know if he sold it or not, but it looked really good. It is in this forum somewhere. If anyone knows where a 2dr sedan is, please tell me!!!

This particular sedan I am looking at is a 2-door. The only thing that is ropey about it is a salvage title. The car looks great in pics and the owner claims it has the original paint. The seller doesn't know why the salvage title. He says it drives straight and true. It could have been a theft recovery that was stripped and someone put it back together.

I will let you know about that car if it's not happening for me. I have low-balled the price, and I won't pay much more because of the title. If the car is nice, that would be great, but the salvage title prpetty much kills any resale regardless of the condition. (IMHO of course)

Did you see the Ebay coupe 4575436067? It's still at $800 with a day left. Salvage title? I guess that would affect the resale. But you wouldn't really want to resell it, would you :) Well, I am still interested, and best of luck. Since you really want a coupe, would I be a bad kid for suggesting you might be able to turn a quick buck with the sedan??? I know a buyer :)

Tachometer was optional on all north american 1200s. I've never seen a 2-dr sedan with one from new, but I've seen some in coupes. Most coupes didn't have tach or clock.

yes, the 2-dr sedan has same amount of front-seat room as 2-dr coupe. Go the 2-doors!
