I got one made at my local auto trimmer in Melbourne foe $150 AUS. Instaed of using one continous cord, get one made with individual bungi straps and make sure they sow an extra piece of vinyl underneath so the clips don't scratch the car....

I was thinking of using alloy tube and a sheet of alloy real thin stuff and get a mates dad to weld a frame up and put the sheet on top. then just paint it the same colour as the ute. Use two gas struts of a hatch to keep it up. The cost should be about $150 because alloy is faily cheep, second hand struts for the wreckers and a bit of paint, two higes and a carton for the welding.

WHAT DO U THINK????
