hi all...
anyone can teach me how is the vacuum hose connected in various parts in our stock Hitachi 306 carb?

i always suspected the previous mech connect them wrongly...
so i need to ask you all help..

it seems like one dedicated hose is connected to the choke-pull-off

but in my carb it seems that the vacuum hose is connected to a 'T' join, than one side to the choke pull off, another side to the intake hose (Before air enter the carb)
is this correct?

than how about the 'throttle-opener-diaphragm? is it a dedicated vacuum hose to it also?


i also found another 'loose' vac hose on my carb.. which i can use my finger to feel the vacuum when engine running..
i dono where it suppose to go, it is below the choke-pull-off, but the house is straight up.

( after a while i stuff something to shut seal the loose vacc.. is it ok? )

Connect it like this. Make sure that the pull-off diaphragm is not leaking. If it is, you can plug the fitting on the carb to make it run right when warm. The choke pull-off is only needed for the first minute or so of a cold engine start.



north american Datsun 1200 1972-1973 DCH This is the auto choke model.

Newer carbs (B210 or B310) may have used a T-connector.

DEFINITELY plug that leaking hose. It's OK to plug it. Better to find out where it goes, but first things first.

i just re-check those hose
actually previously i check wrongly.
so now i notice the choke-pull-off have a dedicated hose (like in the pic)
and the throttle pull-off also same.



my problem is..
my choke 'activate' slow when i start the engine
the choke actually work after about 10 second the engine start..
dono if it is related to vacuum


and i just found out another thing that
there is one vacuum port (split into 2)
that is after the carburetor and before the manifold.

i saw it connected to a 'T' join, one connect back to itself (where it split into 2)
and another one connect to the air box.. (after the air-filter before the carb)

is this vac leak? why need to connect to that place? i just curious.. :(
