wheel problem

i just took my datsun 1200 coupe for the first drive after puttin in new driveline.

Ive got 15" rims on with 50 profile.

the front tyres were scrapping on the back part of the inside guard, near the door when i turn the wheel.

I havent got my swaybar on there cause i need a custom one.

Is this my problem, because the car is being distorted of do i have to cut the back part out to make it bigger.

The biggest tire I can fit into my lowered 1200 without flares or other mods in the front has been a 195/45-15. Even if you flare the car, with a 15" wheel/tire you're still going to have a challenge keeping it off of the innards of the fender at that rear part that's rubbing because of the larger diameter of the wheels. My best advice is to have a front end alignment done. Tightening up your tension rods may help a little bit, and/or replacing the control arm bushings.

fix it properly, most people just bash the corner of the floor pan to stop the scrubbing.
i fit 195 45 r15 on my ute minimal scrubbing (only at full lock and fully depressed suspension) it all to do woth tht e wheel offset.

i knew the swaybar wouldn't make a difference.

unfortunately the price difference for 45 were much more. atleast from this mob.

it doesn't scrape that much. a little tap should suffice.

That doesnt really tell us the overall diameter unless we know the width of the tyre.
Having said that, I am with AFRacer on the tension rods (radius rods) with a proper front alignment.
Its better to find the actual cause of the problem, rather that just bypassing the result of the problem.

I agree that 15" wheels need 195/45 tires, that is if you like the lowered look.

What helps with foot well fouling is increasing castor (bringing the hub centers forward).

This can be achieved inexpensively by adding more threads to your t/c rods so that you can tighten them/bring them forward/increase castor.
