hi guys, I have just scored a july 1975, 120Y four speed manual sedan... proud as punch... don't know what I'll do yet... keep it A series or "go the L series!" the A12 is dead... NO compression...

every bolt on panel is bent... bar the bootlid and bonnet... I have a spare pair of LF and LR doors and a RR door... I do have a pair of "semi straight" guards (from "The Defect")

but the good thing is that "sleeping beauty" has no sill rust! (haven't had a good chance to see what she's like underneath- she's parked in grass...)

unfortunately I haven't got any pics

will get some soon...

so far, I'm thinking of ditching the H150 for my spare 120Y BW diff, and updating the brakes to the (aussie spec) eqivalent - then if I do go to "L" I'll be ready!...

is the japanese Master Cylinder the same size as the aussie MC? because if they are the same I'll keep the existing one...

Team_dat, or anyone else that has gone to "L" what is involved?... I know that the castor rod brackets need to be modified... the RSP (Radiator Support Panel) needs to be opened up, and a hole needs to be drilled in the firewall for the hydraulic clutch Master cylinder...any other alterations reqired? just weighing up my options...

then again I do have 4 A12's around the farm...

and a neighbour's daughter has a sunny with A12...

and her brother has an A14 powered sunny

I had a XD ute with a 250 2V out of an XA sedan... that was crazy - 120Km/h fishtails (on gravel - of course)

The master cylinder bore for Jap spec models [up to June '76] is
17.46mm [0.687"] for cars with unboosted brakes &
19.05mm [0.75"] for cars with Master Vac booster.

For Aussie spec cars [after June '76] the bore size is
19.05mm [0.75"]

Source. Gregories service & repair manual No 111A. These manuals are really good, maybe you should think about geting one. [current bid $1]

thanks Dodgeman but I already have the Gegorys 120Y service manual... my cousin found it at a spap meet... $5! it's wiring scematics came in handy during "The Defect's" Manualization... shame It didn't mention anything about the auto crank spacer

oh well I have an unmolested A12 flywheel now

the service manual is up at the farm... should have grabbed it...
