OK, the time has finally come to throw in the A14 race engine this sat. I am hoping to get it done in 1 day. I havent done it in about a year but i will be working damn hard to get it done.
I was going to pull the box and engine out at once to save myslef time but if i remember right, its a prick of a way to do it! Or is that just putting it back in??? Im going to bolt up the 5
speed box aswell so i will do that after the engine is in. Thats made pretty easy with a hoist. No more jacking the car up and on ya back!! I've done that many times!! What a pain. Once i
get the engine and box bolted up is there any other stuff i should be looking out for?? Any input or suggestions welcome.

One thing sucks tho, once i get the engine in i have to pull it off the road as it will be illegal until i get it engineered :( I fitting up the struts in that time then going for my report
again :) I bet the drive home from work will be a blast tho :)

When I pull a motor, I pull everything out. Engine and Tranny both. It is so much easier. I have a gadget on my hoist that counter balances the engine when a tranny is attached so
that it is easy to control. Both easily lifts right out. You can't live without one of them. I hate trying to bolt up a tranny around the tunnel housing.
I can usually pull a motor and tranny on Saturday and put it back in on Sunday. That's with some family distractions. I can always count on that.
I'm off to easier stuff, NEW CARPET next week!!!
Have fun.

Heyaz,

Well, nearly everything went to plan. I got the A15 out and the A14 and 5 speed sunny box in. New gearbox mount fabricated. Sits in there perfect. Im also using 2 rubber engine mounts
to stiffin things up a bit on the left hand side. I've broken quite a few left side mounts. Extractors fit over the new mounts, just. New 2.25" exhaust made up to diff with only a 18"
oval resonator were the muffler sits (she's gonna be real loud!!) flanged behind extractors and resonator for easy removal. All this in 1 day!!! I just cant wait to fire it up and hear
the exhaust scream!! The reason i couldnt start it was because i found a broken inner valve spring :( So off comes the head and off to JTS for a freshen up.

Next part - struts and brakes going in!!
