Considering a full rebuild kit costs around $350 in parts, then $370 for someones knowledge/labour, its pretty cheap i reckon.

At $720, including the value of the core engine, i'd say that it is a major overhauled engine, not reconditioned.
New pistons alone are worth $250 + By the time you include ALL the work & material involved in a recondition job, then $720 is an absolute bargain.

If the core engine was in sound condition, then a major overhaul will restore it to near new condition & provide a good long service life. It still sounds like a good buy as long as the overhaul invloved more than just kerosene & a perssure washer.

Well for comparison, a standard re-build here in Launceston from 3 different businesses they all quoted me $1250
But then another shop with high quality and an extremly reputable business quoted me $850 for a std. rebuild.
So either way your figures are looking pretty darn good i might ad!

$250 for a piston set Dodgeman? Jeeze, i must have nabbed a bargin at $110 for a set of 4 slightly oversized pistons (020")...ACL advertise A15 pistons at $150ish im pretty sure.

Buy it mate, great deal.
Cheers
Dave

I spent $1300 USD on a like new A15 with custom cam. If you can afford it and know you're getting a real like new engine, then the reliability of a completely overhauled motor is great.
