I think this would be great its higher octane but less dense than normal fuel and half the price. I would be very interested to see a twin weber A series go on this stuff (if possible)

The LPG system uses it's own type of carb, it's very simple it's called a VPM (Variable Piston Mixer [mixer=carb in propane speak]) so you wouldn't need webers. I purchased a system that would worn NA or boosted. Turbos + Propane = FUN!

I owe some pics of the final under hood install and various other things.

I changed the solid copper tubing they use to flexible hose like we use in the US for LPG cars.

Went out on a run on the freeway and it's still pretty zippy. needs a little more tuning.

Wow thats very smart indeed looks to be good for the future/now ,whats the milage like ,seems fairly well priced too ...Started reading install manual i think i will have a better understandig of the system once iv read it ....nice work too on the manifold ......

Propane is the way to go! Unfortunately we dont get 'Propane' here in Aus as our LPG is a mix of Propane and Butane, Propane has an octane of around 105-110 but butane is only around 89, so the octane of our LPG is anywhere from 94 to 100. And is it not well refined which causes the converter to get clogged up with black crap as the fuel changes from Liquid to vapour.

But I just converted my 3.0l Skyline to LPG and it actually has a whole 1.4 rwkw more power then petrol!

Go the gas!!!!!

your lpg system doesn't have a filter before the regulator?
or doesn't the filter get those bits? ever tried getting lpg from someplace that fuels forklifts?

I've heard of those mixes that aren't 100% propane, those could be bad for a turbo vehicle or ant other time you get knocking.

there are some countries where they practically give LPG away like britain. I just paid 2.15 /gallon petrol is 2.19 and I really should have paid less, but needed gas. prices range from 1.69 - 3.50 depending on where you get it.

I really want a turbo, then maybe switch to hydrogen or some really weird fuels.

RE the manifold, I sent that out to be made, cost $150, but it's an intermediate step, meant to be quick and dirty, as the final goal is turbo power, i didn't want to waste alot of money on a non turbo manifold. If i did it over the throttle body adaptor would mount the TB horizontally.

we do legally have to run filters inside the LPG lockoff defore the converter. But the black sludge, called rough ends, are not dirt in the fuel but a by product of converting the liquid into gas, just a nother result of poor refining in this country. As for pricing here, LPG is currently averaging 50c au per litre which works out to be $2.25 au per gallon. Which sucks as the LPG sold here in aus comes from Bass straight which is local and our LPG in final refined form is sold to China for 3cents au per litre. we pay about 16 times that for not fully refined LPG. There are only 2 places in Melbourne that I know of that sell PURE propane to motorists, they are gas distributing depots.

That system are you using, looks like a complex converter with a 'spud' mixer.

I've been so busy lately, I'm in mexico till 12/27 then I'll be back home and then I'll take a lot of pics of the actual install.

I got married 12/21 :)

I'm using a vaporizer that's boost capable with a VPM, so someday I can turbo it.

I think the system is very simple, the carb has 0 adjustments and the vaporizer only has an idle adjust and mixture adjust, then there's the adjustment for what i call back pressure, so yes only 3 adjustments and 1 for the throttle body minimum.

runs good, held 75 mph up a hill that i only could ever go up at 75 mph, so power is good, running slightly rich, and need more advance on the dizzy, but I also have a multi strike CDI box.

I am a forklift mechanic here in the U.S and all of our forlifts run on propane . We have only one A-15 in the hole fleet of 120. This perticular lift can run on propane or gasoline by the flip of a switch. We have to crank it on gas , then flip the switch to propane cause it doesn't like cold weather.What kinda fuel lock & convertor are you using sleeper? The black stuff that gets cloged up in the fuel lock & convertor is actually has an oil base , we have the same prob.If you ever tear down one of these engines after a few years or so there is alot of carbon buildup. in the intake & on top of the pistons too.
