are a12 and a15 oil pumps a bolt in swap over affair?
Also does the oil pressure differ between the two....

thanks for that one, i thought one of them might have different oil pressure springs in there for a higher or lower oil pressure... im looking to increase my opperating oil pressure as it sits at 25psi at idle when warm.

Will try the z191a oil filter but also the oil pump may be on its way out

theory goes a smaller oil filter will increase oil pressure but also conversely increase oil temp... but then again that may be my problem

even new oil pumps seem to hang out around 25 psi when warm, i usually just bring the idle up a tiny bit till the oil pressure is up to 40ish.

I wish someone was making the spacer to make the L series pump into a high volume pump for the A series...

Do not know if this helps but I bought a modified stock pump that provives 65 PSI hot. For the life of me I can't remember what was changed but it was a simple mod.

Hit the SEARCH bar if you want to know how to modify stock pump to high volume unit - modification of stock oil pumps has been discussed many times in the past.
For details on designs and dimensions see "my photos".

The question is ------ is this going in a high performance engine or stock? You can stretch the spring in a stock oil pump & will give you more oil pressure ---but ---- too much oil pressure in a performance engine can also hurt you ,not in oiling but performance itself ( small figures though)

Modding the oil pump to supply higher volume is better than chasing more pressure IMO

I would rather have the higher volume at lower pressures than standard volume at high pressure. The higher pressure adds more load to the cam & its drive components.

its not hi performance, just curious as the coupe will sit at 30-35psi all day long where as the mutated ute will only sit at 25psi (same guage used).... might try lifting the idle a bit but with the webber 32/36 it semms to idle smoothly at 900rpm already, anymore seems to high really, maybe 1000rpm would be better, they never seem to idle to nice now days at 700rpm anyway... crappy non leaded petrol i blame...
