I have acquired a J15 engine, which is similar to the A series. Which parts are interchangeable between the J series and the A series - heads, crank, cam etc?

Visually the distributor and oil filter locations are different. I was hoping to use the J series for spares in case something tragic happened to my A15.

Any advice or comments welcomed.

No. I mean a Datsun J series engine from (I think) 521 and 620 Datsuns.

4 cylinders pushrod, 1483cc, 77 hp.

J-series is not very much like A-series, except they are both four cylinder engines.

A15 vs J15

DD, thanks for the link. Looks like I've got a spare J series if anyone wants one. Otherwise it could be an anchor.
