Hi. I've got the option to buy a 5-speed split case 5-speeder out of a Toyota T18. I'm no wizz on the toyota stuff and was hoping someone might tell me if this box will suit a datto conversion. I don't know the ratio's, the weight or mounting details. If I buy this will probably fab my own bellhousing, so the dellow kit won't be required. Thanks for any info !!!!

I use the T18 box in my 1200 coupe I found it fits better in the tunnel but the gear stick is about 30mm back from standard. I used the dellow kit. I think all the T50 boxes have the same ratios.

I use one in my car, no problems so far. I've changed most of my ratios with Albins gears.

There are two types of rear extension housings, have got pics in my photos.

Some info on them for you.

http://www.dellowauto.com.au/main.html Download the catalouge and it gives you some info on the type of box and what ratios are in it.

Hope this helps.

Hi Daniel dont forget you have to cut most of the tunnel out from the firewall to the gear stick hole to fit these boxes. we used a sunny tunnel which is wider and higher.By the way the car has been un ooopsed and should be fully repainted (dark blue)this weekend.still havent done anything about my other T50 boxes yet.GREG

Kinda off topic here but anyway...

I read that someone got a flywheel redrilled to fit a sprinter clutch, Is the sprinter clutch specific to a sprinter t50? of could i use it with a 2T T50? Gearbox input shaft is the only issue i think, the number of splines?
Is there anything else that has to be changed at the same time?

I used a 2T box and the geastick came up slightly forward of the datsun one. Just a tad.

My 1200 track car, transmission tunnel is unmodified [with exception to the original g\box mounts being removed] and I run the toyota box. They are a very narrow box and very strong.
