well what a day...

my first time on the drag strip and i must say it was more fun than i thought it would be...

on a very hot day (30+deg) i managed a
best time of 15.5 @ 85mph

i did 12 runs all between my best time of 15.5 and the slowest being 15.8.. so the rotor (believe it or not ) was very consistent on the day... also got me back home which i was very happy about

mopar was impressive running 15flat all day with his immacculate 1000coupe race car.. and boofhead was chipping away at his times all day running in the 17's with his though little a12..

a good fun day had by all i think and there was plenty of good pics and vids floating around at the track on various digicams...

hopefully some good pics will pop up over the next few days...

well done to the boys racing and it was good to see some other club members supporting aswell..

Good to hear that you had some fun. It is an adrenaline rush. The risk of stuffing up in front of all those people is exciting.

Did you lose time in wheelspin, or do you have 70-80kW at the wheels?

Good to hear the Melbourne Datsun community is going well. Lots of us Sydney boys are looking forwards to the Nats next year.

yeah wheelspin was a bit of a hassle... its very hard to get the perfect launch... i found that when i got it to hook up off the line well.. i would end up spinning into 2nd and loosing some time there... (could never really get it all right in one run)

all day my 60ft times were 2.1 and 2.2.

and yeah.. lucky if ive got 75kw at the wheels i think..

but a run on a dyno will prove that... i plan to have it dyno'd before i take the motor out to get rebuilt... just for comparison

definitly a worthwhile day

managed to get my times down over half a second with 7 runs during the day. 1st run of 18.383sec @ 78.35mph and my last of 17.623sec @ 78.07mph

one run with a little ignition miss, which was rectified with a quick check and clean, and not a hiccup from my datrat's A12 which ran it's way down the quarter at 8500rpm all day

hopefully get some pics up during the week for all to see.

the 3 car turnout from the forum wasn't bad and the 6 or so spectators was great

thanks all for a fantastic day

............... only problem i have now is the need for more speed .................

yeah, i envy you fellas having a car to race. it would have been good to get the wagon out there and aim for some quicker times.

was good to see how the varying conversions and motors go too, with the 13bt 1200 granny looking coupe running a cool 11.66! i reckon there's more in that too

no 1600's there tho, i'll have to change that for next time...

It was not a bad day at all. The decision to include the VL's made for a crowd full of guys with caps pointing up and rat tails talking like "Oy bro I fink Rajab and Bresciani are gonna run a 6 flat today".

It was good to catch up with you fellow members. I have some pics of you guys (ange and boof) racing each other. I'll post them up soon.

boof, u really need a better exhaust, it sounded like you were idleing down the track

Good going guys. So what are the plans Ange, bridgeport/peripheral keeping it legal or are you going to go turbo. What about the quest for more speed Adrian. A big block A-series(a14/a15) or is there a conversion ahead? Good time to mopar. 15flat is quite a healty time indeed. What sort of power have you got?

Cheers
Daniel
