hey guys.. i been looking at all the chats bout this...
but there is one thing.. i went on datnet.com and asked if i beat my mates mark2 escort with a draw through turbo set up...
and the guy was saying that i prob blow the engine up and fry everything on a standed a12...
coz i been looking at buyin a turbo set up from ebay.. all i need is exhaust bigger, custom engine mount and low comp head.. but i was lookin at buyin his low comp head too..
so is it true.. it not be worth it.. coz i want sum power without putting an a14 or ca ir sr in it.. cheers

Interesting info a friend told me the other day. Apparently the gear from a charade turbo (carb included) was measured and appeared to bolt onto a series standard manifold. Yep.

Ive never heard of the Charade option, but do tell more....
Ive done an A12 turbo setup myself. It is a bit of work with manifolds, oil feeds and returns and water plumbing etc. But is worth while. On a std A12 with A14 head it made 70kw atw (around 115-120hp)

yeah I've heard of the charade option, would be a little small though, maybe just use the charade carby hat?
A mate of mine has a weber TBI setup that will bolt on with a downdraught adapter, has a big injector and looks relatively easy to put a box around. that and maybe a megasquirt system would allow cheap efi turbo?

The 94 charade turbo was the fastest australian 4 door production car 0-100k's till the first 5.7L commodores (VT i think) so its not a piece of crap probaly a good size turbo for an a12 i think the charade was a 1.3L

I think the 94 would have been an injected motor, the blowthrough motor was just under 1Litre.
