A14 CARB ON A STOCK A12!

Hi all I have a stock as a rock A12 motor and I am thinking of running an A14 carb on it.
Just want to know wether or not it would it would give me a power increase and do the A12 motors run ok with the bigger carby on it?

It will probably run OK. Slight power increase if you re-jet it to match your engine. Otherwise don't expect any increase.

i think i've read somewhere that the A14 carb isnt as good as the A12 carb.
The A12 carbs has jets more suited to the A14 than the A14 carb to the A12.
if you wanted to get a decent carb cheack out the Tech Section and see what carb you think most suits ur needs.
most people do the opposite of you and put an A12 carb on an A14. but ive never tried so im only going on what (i think) i've read.

Well we talked about that last month and discovered the A14 carbs generally have richer jetting ...

I've played with a14 and a12 carbis.

What I recommend, (and this was mentioned in one of the older threads as well) is to use the a12 carbi jets onto the a14 carbi.

You will notice a significant positive power difference, guaranteed
.

And as for the standard a14 carbi, burning rich, I fully agree.
