Ok I now have more A15 conversion questions: after looking in the Tech section on A12-A15 convert it says use a longer throw out bearing holder?? If I'm using the 1200 gearbox and the 1200 flywheel and clutch pack, is the longer piece needed? I can't see what would change that would require this. Help please

Tom,
I think it has more to do with the transmission. It seems to me that 5 sp. uses the longer "bearing holder". I've used the std. A12/4 sp throwout bearing when I used the 5 sp, just had to adjust the rod out more.

I think it has nothing to do with the transmission, which all 56 and 60 are the same in that respect.

It's either the flywheel thickness or the sandwhich plate between the block and transmission. I can't quite make out what Pitroad means. Anyways, see it here: Pitroad's Clutch Release Bearing diagram

I dont get it, ive used the A12 flywheel but A15 clutch/pressure plate with the 60a series throw out bearing on a 56a 4 speed behind an A15 and ive had no trouble at all. The plate grabs as usual and it feels like a normal clutch! I just pulled the clutch behind the A15 yesterday and it looks like the usual wear and tear of a clutch plate on flywheel/pressure plate.... Have i missed something or do i have the proper ingredients?

well thats exactly what we're trying to say! its all interchangeable from A12 to 14 to 15 and 56 to 60 4spd to 5spd. 63 is differnt though but seeing he's using the 4spd its not an issue.
