I'M REALLY ENJOYING THE RESTORATION OF MY NEWLY ACCUIRED 75 1200 GX SEDAN, BUT I CANT GET THE TACHOMETER TO WORK.I THINK I MIGHT HAVE A BROKEN WIRE SOMEWHERE BUT I NEED SOME GUIDANCE ON WHERE TO BEGIN THE ELIMINATION PROCESS.

I'LL HAVE TO TEST THE TACHOMETER ITSELF TO SEE IF ITS WORKING OR NOT. DOES ANY ONE PERHAPS KNOW HOW I CAN TEST THE TACHO WITHOUT REMOVING THE WHOLE DASHBOARD.

AND THANKS IN THE MEANWHILE TO ALL YOU HELPFUL BUDDIES FOR ALL THE ADVICE I HAVE RECEIVED SO FAR.

You can take it, if it is in the dash, by reaching up from above. There are three small screws in the back that hold it. You can use a small mirror to see them.

For details on how it should be wired, see Wiring for B110.

For some pics and explanation of how the dash fits (including tach) see Dash Assembly Removal.
