Got a new radiator in today, went for a bit more of a drive...
but am losing boost somewhere now and its way too wet out there...
the radiator is an awesome conversion... its out of a toyota paseo, about 690x400mm with plastic end tanks (but not alloy fins), with the same size hose fittings, both on the right hand side so you have to be a little tricky for the top hose (i used two hoses connected with an original 1200 heater hose t-piece that i blocked up the heater pipe with soldier), its twin core, and i have fit two 10inch thermo fans, with an intercooler in front of it. It still is holding the temp at just over a quarter (thermos are permanent wired at the moment)
other tips recently discovered, an old cylindrical coil is a great size for knocking in wheel bearing seals
coupe petrol level sensors are good for utes in that they have a built in breather pipe which is good for returning fuel into the tank (though the petrol gauge is now inaccurate)
oh yeah, and i have now personally fitted the bluey rear discs to a h165 diff and can verify that works (previously done it on h190 only)
and never assume cause it fit in one 1200 it will fit in the next!!!!! damn i had trouble making some stuff fit using all the components from the coupe bolting them into the ute, particularily the engine and crossmember, still dunno why that didnt go straight in
