I tried a search and turned up diddley squat.

I would like to know what is involved in transplanting an SR or FJ 20det into a 1200 ute.

I notice a LOT of them get a CA18det transplant, and I assume that this is done because it is easier to get engineered / legal due to the initial weight and legalities, etc.

I am in NSW and i'm aware of the weight and capacity limits for engineering purposes. I also have a very talented and creative engineer report writer who can approve crazy engines in the wrong cars, when necessary...

An SR20 turbo would be hell fun tho in a ute. :D

Thanks in advance for this.

it's basically the same as fitting the ca18det...
iv'e gone a sr and it's not worth the legal hassles that are involved....

sure i had it fully engineered but still got it put off the road.... The rta are not as dumb as u may think....

plus for the price of a sr20 these days u can get a rebuilt ca18det...
go the ca and work the crap out of it... when the police pull u over u have nothing to worry about...
