Hey all. i found a gearbox today which has "L3" printed on the side of it. i know its a 5spd and i know it came from a datsun, but my question is would it fit my A15? it has a hydraulic clutch like the 63series and looks like a 63 series aswell (selector right at the back of extenion housing).

if anyone can knows what gearbox it is, wot car it came from and if it would fit my A15 then please tell me shed some light.

I cant really help you, but the 63A in my 720 has 'L4' cast on it if that means anything.
does the bellhousing match the a15 one?

A couple of pictures would help with identification.

i havent got any as yet. i was talking to my auto teacher at school about how hard it is to find a 5spd for a datto and he sed "we got 1 out the back here"

so ill make sure i can get some pictures of it. but from what i could see it looked like a 63A (because of the hydraulic clutch set up and the shifter was right out the back of the extension housing)

dunno. id have to take some photos from some on the net here of a 63A and compare them to the one at school.

but Tyrie if your 720 has L4 on the side of it then this probably came off something similar (or at least probably not off an A series)
