hello all. I've got some problems with my brakes. (1200 ute) Normally i would just get under there and check out what the deal is my self but i got uni exams and no time to go up to my folks house. So, i'll ask for ideas about the prob.

So, after i got the car i thought it was full of b.fluid, but i didnt actually take the cap off. Then one day i lost all pedal pressure. No fluid in front res. Being rushed i filled it up, had a test and it was ok. Now i find the back breaks lock WAY to early. I guess maybe there is air in the system (front) and the backs have self adjusted on way to hard? (i know my 1600's were self adjusting so i assume these are to).

Only now, ive got some semi-grinding noise from the front wheels. Especially when i turn the wheel to the right a bit. When im braking it comes through the pedals. Could this be down-to-steel pads? Obviously i drove easily home and havent driven since. Could these two problems be related?

Also, if i back of the adjusting wheel(?) on the backs, bleed them then let them self adjust will that work?

Thanks all, sorry about the long post

Only way to know whats going on with the front brakes, is to get under there and have a look.
The back brakes locking up to early, sounds like your fronts arent doing anything to start with.
Only a faulty self adjuster will cause the brakes to adjust up to hard. I cant see that happening with the way that the adjuster actually works.
The adjuster doesnt tighten the brakes. All it does is keep the shoes from returning more than needed. Basicly the self adjuster isnt made to give a good pedal. Its made to make sure there is a pedal at first press. Manually adjusting the brakes will always give a better pedal.

Sort the front out to find the problem.
