Gday fellas im in the process rebuilding my a12 which will consist of twin 40mm solexs, ported and polished head, a15 valves, flat top pistons, decked block and shaved head for about 10.5:1 comp ratio, cam and extractors.

The guy whos doing the head and block said that the standard chokes off the 18rg which the solex's came off will be too big for the lil a12 he didnt know what i should go down to but if any one has any good ideas on how to help me it would be most appriciated.
Cheers

32 Chokes, but jets and air not sure for solexes.
125 for main jets, 55-60 for idle and 170 for air is what im running but thats in dellortos and for a stock 1500 with cam.
What chokes it got in now, wouldnt be too large as toyota set them up for emissions not performance.
Thats what i found with alfa dellortos, they are not that bad as is, just lean the air and main jets, leave the idles on the rich side as they will help with the progression that emissions carbs have.

I dont know how available parts are for solexes, i dont think parts interchange, i know dellorto and weber dont interchange so chances are they dont. 34's will be too big, i'd go for 30-32 but the problem is finding the parts and have enough parts to have a play, good luck! Post a wanted ad for some different jets and chokes on toymods or other car websites where people might use solexes. Otherwise get some webers! Or soldering and re-drilling the jets/air correctors could be your only option, got a steady hand?

Know what main, idle jets & airs you got???
