hey everyone. great site. im a proud owner of my first 1979 datsun 1200ute. i love it... anyways. i was wondering what motors do the A14 and A15 come out of, and is it a legal swap in queensland australia?

The A14, A15 swap is legal in all states but you will want to check with the RTA to find out if it needs to be inspected and if a brake upgrade is required. the A14's came out in some sunny's and A-15's came out in Vanettes. You will want to find heaps of info in the tech section and in old posts (use the search button) this is the best place to start.

The A14 was used in most of the B310 Sunny Sportwagons, but near the end of production they switched to the A15 engine.
The Sunny sedan used the A12 engine.

As previously mentioned, some Vanettes also used the A15, & probably the A14 as well. Neither of these engines should be particularly difficult to get & either of them will be a good choice.
