From memory, the Bosch altenator that came on Series One Bluebirds was rated at 55 amps & the one that was fitted to Series Two cars was rated at 60 amps.

look i can contribute actual good info for once

all bluebirds came with internal reg alternators 4 bosch and one lucas

they were(i think these are the codes):
boschUK1-14V40A22t(little t looking thing)
boschUK1-14V45A22t
boschUK1-14V60A22t
boschUK1-14V55A22t
Lucas14ACR-6Dt (55A at 6000rpm)

all of those were fitted to series one or two bluebirds, the higher power bosch ones (45, 55 and 60 amps) were from the sept 83 onwards ones, possibally the series 2 (tune up book doesnt distinguish b/w series 1 and 2)

tell them you want a bosch 60 amp internal reg alternator from a series 2(coz they have the bigger power ones) bluebird

and it should bolt straight on, the only difference in alt brackets is that some have 3 bolts to hold them to the block and some have 2, no difference in where the alt actually connects
