Hey guys,
As some of you may or may not know, i brought a brand new turbo for the CA. I discovered a real problem as i went to do a test fit.The standard manifold I was planning on using has the threads coming out of it as you know.Problem is, the turbo has the right bolt pattern but also has a thread.Has anyone overcome this dilemma or will i be forced to fork out for an aftermarket manifold?

Cheers
Mat

When you say thread do you mean stud(threaded)? Should be able to remove one or the other so they can be matched up. Got any pics so we can see whats going on?

I could be wrong, but i would think you would drill the thread out of the turbo flange and use the bolts on the manifold to bolt it up. Check the turbo you took off to see if it has threaded holes. You will want to make the new turbo flange the same as the old one.

if there are threads in the exhaust housing flange...then that's unusual. Never seen that before.
I'd just drill out the threads on the turbo using an 8.5mm drill, so that you can use the factory studs in the manifold.

I can't tell if the turbo flange on tjhe left has threads in it or not due to focus issues

The turbo flange on the left does have threads dattodude.I dont have the old turbo as I brought the motor without it. I was going to drill out the turbo flange but was told it is alot easier said than done.

Cheers
