Well, after who knows how long my little blue coupe has finally come to life - a few hicups along the way but at last everything has fallen into place.

Last obstacle this weekend was working out why it didn't start....the dizzy arse about (180 degrees advanced) was the culprit - I just lined the TDC crank line up with "0" on the timing case with the rocker cover on - didn't make sure it was acutally TDC for Cylinder 1.

With that life lesson now learnt, one windscreen and exhaust to go and it will be a driver!

Will take a nice engine bay shot next time I'm home in the daylight.

Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions - the questions will keep coming as the new project will begin in a week or two.....CA18DET 1200 white coupe.

I think the engine timing to be important.
The experience is wonderful.

Well Mik when the next bolt gets stuck I promise you'll be the first to know....

I now have the issue of finding somewhere to store it whilst the CA18DET project comes to life - but next cruise I'll be there with the blue one on club reg - as it's not slated for real registration....yet.

Oil light went off once it actually started, lots of smoke though! That would be the liberal spray of assembly lube on the top and bottom end.

Congrats on getting it running! I've been watching this come along, and it's nice to see you'll be tearing it up on the road soon.
