Doors are only $65? There must be something I'm missing here. They must not suit street cars at all or something.

My big concern with fiberglass parts is weight. There is no way you can make a fiberglass fender that will hold up that is lighter than the stock steel fenders... or hood...

I've been told the Datsun Competition fiberglas fenders were heavier than the stock steel ones, and having seen them I believe it, very thick.

But if the choice in north america is between rusty stock fenders or fiberglas, it seems our only choice. Nobody sells steel fenders here except the occasional single unit on eBay.

phat_dat, is your's traditional fibreglass or Carbon Fibre?

Some bonnets are light, those meant for racing, but the "stock replacment" ones can be heavy.

I reckon same could go with fenders (guards) but all the ones I've seen were very thick. Someone once said they were made so you could repair them quickly after a race rather than to save weight.

The fiberglass parts at japco are very light weight and meant for racing cars they are just the outer panel for the doors I have one of thier hoods I needed to add another layer of fiberglass on back side because it flexed so much at speed

A mate gave me a pair of fiberglass guards, and a fiberglass bonet. Bothe the guards and the bonnet alltogether, weigh less than just the steel bonnet alone.
Remember, F=MxA.
