Yes. you can even get one with a rev limiter so I am told.

I use an "autometer" shift light with the std tach in my race car.....

I run a cheapo autogauge one. It brought to my attention that my factory tacho was reading way low too.

Yeah you can run a shift light without an aftermarket tacho. You just connect the correct wire into the tach wire behind your dash.
As for Gizzmo, they are really good, I am currently waiting for one to come up cheap on ebay.
I am using an indash Autometer tacho, and I will mount the Gizzmo on the pillar. I dont like the look of having a huge tacho/shift light up on the dash.
