how to improve the instruments lights

i will like to know what improvements have been tried to increase the quality and intensity of the instrument panel lights,so i can be able to see them at night.

I cleaned and painted the inside of the instrument cluster white.
I also popped off the green lens that the lights shine through.
This was a long time ago and that dash is gone, but that's what I remember.

I bought a KB10 from D some years ago and he had put more powerful bulbs in the instruments , it made a world of difference.
