i picked up an a-14 pulsar head, open chamber for a little lower comp, havent done any calculations yet, i will get this rebuilt as is, maybe a little cleaning of ports but no extra work (not good value for money in my opinion)

but i was wondering what to do with the bottom end,

is there stock a -series pistons with more dish in them than other a-series pistons?, i was given an a14 which i believe is from a pulsar and it appears to have very deep dish, will have to get a better look next time @ my parents

any tips on rings welcome as i'm not really sure about them

i belive stock pistons and head gasket will be ok @ 10psi, especially with a little lower comp

the idea this time is to upgrade my injectors/fuel pressure and have the timing done properley

this build is for datnats 07, you will see it there!

PLEASE refrain from discussing turbo choice

yeah, i think the motor should be good for 10psi stock anyway, but if theres anything i can do on the build up to make it more reliable im interested.

ive goon through a few motors now running upto 15psi on stock motors, usually killing the rings

balance the whole bottom end also are you going to be revving the motor hard?

Might be good to "O" ring it too!

Im going through a build on one of these at the moment, Relitively standard but enough to make it reliable.

I'm running an A15 too... now at 18PSI with a stock std bottom end..... I'm running Langley pistons and a 0.9mm shim plate between 2 head-gaskets. the pistons is chopped 20T off the top, giving a nice wide squish band and the rods had been chopped another 20T. that as it is brings the pistons flush with the deck, from there the need for the extra plate and gasket. I torque the head up to 95N over a period of about 2 weeks... to compensate for the extra gasket that needs squishing.

this engine is as reliable as a rock.... not a hitch or anything..... I'm most impressed with it.

that sounds awesome, what head gaskets do you use, are they normal or a special design for boost aplication?

what compression ratio would you get?

yes intercooled for sure..... anything above 7 psi, especially with this crap gas we have here.... needs a IC.

well risking to sound Cheap.... I'm using the cheapest headgaskets I could get..... mainly because I did not really think my idea of sandwiching the plate like that was going to last all that long, just sprayed both the gaskets with that copper sealer stuff.... I was wrong..... it's still going strong and it's been +-7000miles now...
