Was tooling aroung on the net the other night and stumbled across a serena van manual....
..... and c23 serena vans came with a injected ga16de.
Now the problems, logic would say they are rwd, but they may be mid mounted, i dont know as i haven't looked under one.
Then if they are RWD it may be fun finding a manual box that isn't a funky column shift or something.
But if someone can answer those questions we may have found a smaller option to the ca/sr for a later model nissan engine swap.
These engines can take a beating too, my n14 has taken a right hammering on many occasion and hasn't given me any problems what so ever

i believe this has been discussed before, but either way, there's no other info besides what you've already discovered

you'll just have to source a motor/trans or find a serena to look at

let us know ...

the QG18de is a bigger bore version of the ga16de 80mm bores as opposed to 76mm.
If the bellhousings are available then this engine has alot of potential Id say
as the aftermarket parts are getting plentiful and with stock weak internals the
ga16de are making 250atw with 15psi.

I also found a link to someone whos done a ga16de in rwd
http://web.archive.org/web/2001043014 ... www.cruzers.com/~rfm/car/

There is also one done on a 120y somewhere.
