hey guys

i want my plastic vent guards to be chrome..

wat ur idea of doing this?

eg: paint or chrome dip

u can buy the chrome paint but it doesnt dry.. and when u touch it, u get a finger print..

Well if you can find a chrome place ask them about thier sucess in chroming plastic. For painting plastic you'll need to use a plastic priming product that will give the paint something good to adhere to.

That chrome paint is ####! Its just like a metalic silver.

Ive heard plastic chroming is expencive. I would say ring around some chroming places and see what they can do.

Or apparently chrome powder coating comes out really well. Put it next to 'new chrome' and you can tell the difference, but by itself it looks a million bucks!

If I remember my chemistry there is only one plastic that can be chrome plated - it's called ABS. All the chrome plastic on new cars is made of this ABS stuff....if your vents are not made of ABS the best you will likely be able to do if paint them with a 'chrome' paint.

I had some taillight surrounds done which turned out nice!

if ii still had my ute, i would make some nice new ones out of shiny aluminium... or chrome look a like metal... but in the shape of flames....
