Has anyone had some experience in hooking up a new receiver to a 1979 210(b310)? Im looking to put in the new Blaupunkt Hamburg and a Lacie 40-80 gig hard drive in the glove box. Any advice would be good, especially what each color wire represents. Thanks

I have done it.

The new receiver will come with instructions that list the color of each wire.

My B310 was not wired for stereo. You just run new speaker wires to wherever you've put the speakers. Generally these speaker wires are not color coded.

I'm not sure if the colour coding is the same in the US as Australia, but the colours out here are 1. Solid Blue is power from the ignition switch,2.Black is an earth, 3&4 Green with yellow/white trace is dash light circuits, & 5&6 White with Black trace is mono speaker. When i've put other radios into the b310, it's usually an fm radio from an n12 pulsar or a 910 Bluebird, & i use the Blue,Black & both Green wires, with the speaker wires usually being aftermarket. with a stereo/cd player, you'd probably only use the Blue & Black wires, & run wires from the fuse box for battery power.
