What side are you running the alt on?

you dont bolt it to the head, it bolts to the block, the top adjuster bracket is bolted to the head

You wont be able to bolt it straight to the passenger side (as in early block) you have to make a adapter plate up like i did.

To bolt it to the drivers side(RH) there are 2 threaded holes in the block and the adjuster goes in a hole in the head just under the thermostat housing

I used the original (1000 mount in my case) but just made a plate out of 3mm plate to make it sit in the original spot and bolt to the block. Pretty easy really, just make sure you have your holes in the right spot or your pullies will be out of whack!

If you still want a pic i can take one of mine when i get back from sydney in a week.

Ive got a A12 (120y item) with the alt on the manifold side, previous owner has done what beattie has done and used a thick plate and bolted the original mount to it, mines out of wack about a mm or so. When i get round to it i will fix that.
