Hi, I've been lurking here for a while since the guys in the MG forums I belong to suggested I look around over here.
I live in NW Washington State (USA).

I bought a 1978 MG Midget about a month ago.
One of the previous owners had replaced the MG motor with a Nissan A15, seemingly out of a B210 Deluxe. That's my guess because when I order parts for it I get the right ones when I ask for them to fit a 1980 B210 Deluxe.

This is a great engine in the Midget, great acceleration and speed. Very reliable, I'm quite happy with it.

However it has an old downdraft carb on it that required a hole be cut in the hood. I want to get rid of that and ideally put on a pair of SU carbs. I would need to know what intake manifold to get and which carbs would be the right size for the motor. I can buy online, ebay or whatever - I would go to junkyards & look for specific items if need be.

I'm used to SU carbs, I've owned an MGB and currently have an MGC with twin SU's.

Any help on things I can do with this engine would be great.
Ideas that don't cost a lot would be even more gratefully received.

Here are a bunch of pics of the engine & esp the carb.

I have replaced the air filter with a new filter & a nice chrome top. I also replaced the fuel pump with an electric - I'd like to get a blank plate to cover the hole where the mechanical fuel pump is now, but don't know where to get one.

Thanks!

Thanks, I'm looking more for used parts I can clean up / restore & bolt on.

I guess I could search ebay if I just know what to look for.

I couldn't make any searches work on that site, maybe I just don't know what to search for.

I've actually got a pair of SU's not in use right now. They are from my MGC.
That would be interesting, are these too big for the A15?
I would need an intake manifold for my A15 - where do I get it? What do I search for? Thanks!

The SUs that you have spare, what are some of the details, so that it can be worked out if they are too big...

Also have a look at the information available on this site through the links to the left.

I will run out to the shed & measure them tonight after work. I know they are something between 1.5 inch to 2 inch. I'll be more specific after measuing

No it will not fit. I will dig up a pic of what you want. This fits the A14 and A15 cylinder heads. Do you have round or oval intake ports?
You may want to think about a side draft weber(or webers) too!

EDIT: I just saw your pics its a round port head. or atleast its a round port intake.
