well heres the rundown. i own a 2 door 1980 datsun 210. A14 motor rear wheel drive with a 5 speed manual tranny. well my transmission failed on me the other day (imput shaft snapped in two!) and i have been looking all over for a used tranny and a front yoke for the driveshaft in any junkyard i could find! with no avail so far i figured i needed a little bit more info to broaden my field of view. i was wondering if any of you guys know what other cars have the same transmission that my car has. i would really appreciate any info because without this car....i have no car! thank you!

i'm just guessing that you're in America, & my only suggestion would be see if you can find a b210, know in Australia as the 120y. These came with a slightly larger 5 speed, the 63a instead of the 60a or 60l you should have, & a different output shaft, so grab the tailshaft/propshaft if you can find one. It should go into place using the standard gearbox crossmember. You might also have to change the clutch plate as i think it has a different input spline. Not as easy as finding a 210 transmission, but it's the only alternative i know of. You could also try & find the 4 speed from an a12 powered 210, just to get you mobile until you find a five speed. I don't know if the 210's were offered this way, but any of our Yankee or Canuck guys can tell us one way or the other. Good Luck with the hunt, maybe somebody on here has one they can sell you.

check ebay, there are sometimes 60 and 63 trannies on there.
I have a 63A, and most of the parts to use it. not selling it.

unless you really love your 210, the price of the tranny + overhaul is probably more tan you want to spend...

the 5 speeds are getting a bit more rare, but they're out there.
