Excessive black plugs mean rich mixture and or burning oil

Have you checked that all the plugs have matching part numbers, might have 1 plug with a different heat range. What engine are you running, if its injected, number 1 injector may be blocked slightly. May also have a pin hole coolent leak in number 1 as well. Also check the OHM (resistance) readings on your plug leads (if you have leads) and compare results between the 4.

Keep un informed on what goes on

...edit... just read your signature block, turbo l20 engine. that rules out faulty injector, unless its got some funky injection setup on it. Could also just be a fauly plug, you know, just one of those things

yea it has injection, maybe an injector is slightly blocked there second hand unchecked, i just find it wierd that its black as around the outside yet almost white in the middle. I will definatellly check my leads. Plugs are new ngk for et turbo, and its a fresh motor so shouldnt have any coolant leaking, scary thought!

If you have the time and money get the injectors checked. Make sure you get the results from the injector service to see if there was a problem with number 1.

I know you said that the plugs are NEW but do they actually have the same part number stamped on each of em. Could have been a mix up at the shop or factory.

Could also by wiring to that injector
