MR30 gearbox question

hey guys

at the wreckers today i found a Mr30 all fresh :P no one has touched it yet.. besides me.. haha

it has a stumpy gearbox i think.. but this one is 4speed i think unless 1 and 2nd are seziued..

but im looking at the box coz i need it for a ca18det conversion in my ute..

wat do i need off it?

isnt it only the bellhousing and u bolt the bellhousing onto the ca18det box??

plzz correct me.. or should i just get the whole lot??

you use the gearbox and bolt a ca bellhousing onto it

pretty sure they dont come 4 speed, but the gear knob should be a good source of info

oh thnks smartie.. the point is there isnt a gear knob.. work that out for good info ;)

could it be because theres no hydrolic clutch on the box?? sumone has already taking it

should still changed gears fine without the clutch......after all the car isnt running

maybe you should look around the car for the gearknob

hmm yeh ill have a look 2morrw :0

wats the price range for the gearboxs??

its at a u pull it.. reckon i could just say its a stanza 4speed and get away with it?? :P

simple answer yes

costs a bit just to do bearings, or get someone to do it, and if the gears are actually worn then you might as well just get another box

depends how much it costs you to buy the thing

well i asked a price for a stanza gearbox and he said 85bucks :) so if i get away with it.. 85bucks hahaha :)

do i need anything else for the ca18det converion? while the car is there still..

or does anyone esle want parts from it

just find a number off a stanza in the yard, thats a manual & when they say what car it was from, tell them that. They'll then look in their books & see stanza, $85 bucks. Just don't let any of the yard guys see you taking it out of the car, & if you plan to be a regular at that wreckers, do the right thing & tell him what it really is.
