Just came across this article. Mentioned datsun getting stolen to get shipped to asia and middle east.

http://www.theage.com.au/news/nationa ... /06/13/1181414376473.html

""One of the problems we're having at the moment is the theft of old cars," Detective Sergeant Bashford said. He identified Mazdas, Datsuns and Toyotas as the main targets.

Why would anyone want to steal a 20-year-old car? It's because there is big money for the criminals that can sell them for spare parts in Asia and the Middle East where there is a heavy dependence on 20-year-old vehicles for transport."

Next you will see 20yr old datto's in Asia. full standard Granny special rust bucket with gx bonnet or a locker thats it. lol

I have had a few close calls with datto's over the years, but not for standard ones, nice worked serious datto's are always a target.

Dear Datsun thieves,

Keep up the good work. We need parts here in Asia. Only Datsun, not toyata's and Mazda's.

Mates,

If your Datto gets stolen, thanks for the generousity for "donating" us some good parts....

Hahhaahaha....just kidding guyz.....LOL..

I used to sleep in my rx3 if I ever had to leave it anywhere overnight. I once pushed it three and a half kms rather than leave it on the side of the road. One of the reasons dattos are better than rotors.
