Phew!! Finally worked out how to do an avatar.. Gotta love the search feature of this site, it,s a wealth of info to an illiterate like me!! I,m not happy with my avatar,but i,ll work out how to make it better!! It,s a start an better than nothing or a smiley face.. Thanks to all who advise peeps like me what to do..

Yep that,s "Bob"- beast of burden And the photo makes it look good! The old ute prob the most beat up ute on the the street but maintainance wise it,s A1 an it,s got SFA rust. It,s a great work truck, cheap to run, quite quick, an the falcodores can,t come near me thru roundabouts even the gen3 ss,s haha.

An easy way to make a small clear photo is open the one you want with MS paint, click on image up the top, stretch/skew, and resize through reducing the percentages.

I have a digital camera and it takes a photo that is about 1meg, it reduces down to avatar size without distorting quite well. (just tried it reduced a photo down to 4% which should be under the avatar size limit but have a play.

I gave that Stretch/skew a try a while ago, may be I was'nt going small enough, I will try again when I get home.

Failing that I will try what whordias_girl said to do

Finally back on line!!! So&so laptop crapped out on me an a week later it,s all good. Yeah I just searched under avatar, wrote the directions down, then followed them.. Had to play around for a while an double back a few times. Once again Thanks to the legends who provide the info in the search facility..
