gday mate one my mates has has a sr20det in his 120y and all he used for a long time was the standard front brakes but trx rear disk onto a ute diff but now he uses stanza struts with audi disks and vl turbo calipers and it stops unreal also a thing with the 120y struts is that they might bottom out due to the extra weight thats why he went stanza but if u want to keep the 120y stuts i heard you can put s13 brakes on them.

well he did take the gas axe to the spring to lower it when he had an a15 in the car, so maybe with better springs it wont do it.

hahaha damn right im not going to like that
why you ask....coz i dont think he would have actually gained any travel on the standard struts
but for a 300hp SR, say good bye to the standard struts and go striaght for the big datsun stuff....then add decent brakes or take a look on datsport at thier brake and strut packages

There aren't really any better than the 280zx brakes with wilwood calipers, it's a bit spendy, but you won't regret it. you get all the good things you need, camber plates, coil overs, many choices in good dampers, roll center adjustment, huge light weight calipers with many choices in pads from street to full race, at a reasonable price. No funny business with cutting down disks.
Some people like the stanza setup, but really the 280zx is the way to go.
I cant believe what a difference it makes.
Yeah it's a bit heavy, but after cutting the strut body down and using very light calipers, it's not a lot heavier.
Also the 280zx setup will handle any engine you ever put in, just change the springs.
