i know this topic is thrashed but lets face it most of us have A12 and wanna know how fast we can make them go. i wanna know if it is worth turboin the old girl or am i just gonna F#*k my motor and waste time/money. i dont have the money to go all out with a CA i just want a little more power and a bit more fun. on the other hand is it better to spend a bit of money and build a simple A15. love to hear what people think. cheers

well one thing i can say is make sure you get the right bits first as you cost will xplode out of control real quick if you start chopping and and changing. i would recomend making a shoping list of exactly what you will need and stick to it,

yea man i gota sweet a15,webbs,board ect but after awhile the power it delivers wears off... u ask ezactly wot i wana now...???? good idea turboing it or not

If you do it right, it will work. Use a thicker head gasket to drop comp a little.
If you use stock internals and keep boost to a acceptable level, I think it will be a nice power pack.

Those of you who have done it, can you help him with parts to look for, like what turbo and how to connect everything?
Apparently the 200SX turbo is fine for the A12 motor.

so would efi be a more realiable way to do it? n i want REALIABLE power...as its my daily driver

as i told you aswell doyle its a great idea to turbo thye a series, many people have done it before and we all know that it should kill the a series as long as your sensible. i would have to say i have had approx 40kwatw increase and its not even fully tuned it put the pep back into the ute.
-make a shopping list
-take your time and do the research
-stick with lower boost
-go the draw throu setup if your cheap/ go the blow throu setup if you like shinny things(intercooler).
-get it tuned properly
-get the correct fuel pump and fuel reg
-get the turbo with fitting if possible its cheaper
-have fun
-dont be a cheap arse get decent parts
i would suggest setting a budget of around $2000 if your doing it yourself poeople have done it cheaper, i think ianey did it all for $800 or somthing but hes just too cool for school and got good stuff cheap

yer well some have said the T25??? (off CA correct if wrong) is a bit big but they are easy to come by. im not a burnout king or anything i would just like a bit more power and am tight and dont want to spend heaps. havent we all thought that before, but i got to start somewere.

efi is alot more expensive but much more powerful and reliable if built correctly if your only doing a a series to be cheap getting efi will blow the budget it would be cheaper for the ca

as for the t25 i was originally going to go for t2 but got a better ihi for about the same price. the t25 would suit an a15 fine in my thoughts, (if your a fter a turbo exhaust manifold i can get them made for $300) ask a few of the members on here about them i run one on mine (sorry for the plug)

blow through sounds betta n let say more modern....i dun lyk the idea of fuel going through the turbo....$2500 is mi budget

also would direct body injection be better than efi...lyk price wise...i seena bloke who just gota a custom box over them n boosted it from there...lyk kegs setup
