on the side of the gearbox is a 17 or 19 mm nut that you take out. it's up high on the side. don't over tighten it as it is a narrowing nut and you will root it if you do...

Its a square isnt it?

Passenger side from memory but i could be wrong. You may need a small 'tom thumb' pump to get the oil up there. Its about 1/2 - 3/4 the way up the case.

Well, with some careful measurement, one of those hole cutting kits, the one that go on a dril, and a rubber blank, it shouldn't have to be difficult. O wait, you probably still have your carpets in, scrap that...

Passenger Side - Drivers Side

It's all relative - as I notice some drive on the left and other on the right!

All Datsun 1000 utes are RHD drive.

Any ways in a 1200 you can fit a tube through the shifter hole, down to the filler hole on the side of the gearbox, then carefully pour the lube through a funnel.

Or just buy the lube in a container with built-in plastic pump.

Sorry David, but my Datsun 1000 parts book lists the serial number range for left drive Datsun 1000 utes [LB20] in all three model variants.
The only B10 variant that was never made in left drive was the Coupe which is why they were never sold in Okinawa, which was a left drive prefecture[?] at the time.
