 Datsun into ford YES.... Ford in Datsun....NO.,Maybe just a personal thing....Could'nt bring myself to do it. Good luck..!

its been done, the 13bt silver drag ute in sydney used to have a pinto motor in it, was very quick too IIRC. They are not a bad motor, and if its efi and 5speed I'd say its as good as an L20b, if not better.

Definitely use the original EFI system and factory computer. Much better than a carburetor...
Unless you are racing and want to spend the money and time tuning a new carburetor setup...

I agree DD I have been playing around with quads and an autronic and its a long long road to hoe ... plus it will cot you 3-4k for your trouble minimum

Hell yeah! Ive got a soft spot for the old ford, my baby seat was strapped in between the rollcage in dads RS1600, I think Im partially deaf due to my dads rallycar.
There a damn good motor, and in europe parts performance and standard are a plenty! Let us know how you go with it.
And go for carbs, air/fuel/spark=go!
Setting the ford computer up in the dato wont be fun or cost effective.
