E = electronic fuel injection

i think the lettering only came in later once injection was an option (B310)

oh ok.

I was not aware that they made a factory injected a14.

Well live and learn.

How hard are these engines to come by these days?

And the injection was an option???

Well how about that. Pretty strange to think that people had a choice between the two different engine set ups on the same model car, especially back then. Were there any other differences in these options.

Was the injected engine option a fair whack more expensive?

Thanks
Trav

not sure that it was a "tick the box" option...

only know that same came with it and some did not

i use the factory injection setup on my twin turbo motor, see my photo album for pictures

one factory injection manifold and bits sells each year roughly

i did have a second at one stage but sold it on

A14S =
A= A series engine
14=1.4 litre capacity [nominal]
S= Single carb
So an A14T would be the GX engine with 'twin' carbs & 1200RC is right, an A14E would have EGI [Electronic Gasoline Injection] better known to the rest of us as EFI.

The EFI option was not available across the board, but seems to have been offered in some Asian markets & possibly in the US, but don't know about that for sure. It was only ever fitted to A14's & A15's
It was never offered on an A series engine in an Australian market model.

I seem to remeber that the A14 was used in nissan forklifts here in aus
and I think that these came with the EFI setup tho I could be wrong?

I saw a factory EFI setup once not on a forklift tho!, surprisingly it was on an A15 that was being used to run a cement truck mixer! - the driver was not welcome at all to the idea of me purchasing the setup :(
He had no idea where it had come from just bought the truck with it on.
