hey all...now i am starting to look around for some rims for my ute....atm i have et turbo rims and have been informed that the reason the tyre rubs very lightly on the front strut is due to being a fwd offset rim....i am getting 16''...mild to wild boys suggested put 17s on bak and 16s up front....the utes tubbed out so it may work...i need to also know a car that has the same stud pattern as dato 1200? any help would be great...cheers

Old toyotas have the same pattern eg. old celicas and corollas. Sigmas also had the same pattern. R31's have a nice chaser as the spare wheel and make a good set if you can get hold of 4. But they weigh heaps.

FR17's are awesome. Make even the uggliest cars have some credibility. As for taken them down rough dirt roads twice a day. I guess it comes down to how you feel about spending $2000+ on just the wheels alone and then giving them a beating everyday lol.

I would say get them no worries if you lived in town without dirt roads though.

With 17's you usually have to hack a bit of guard away which you may have done? But assuming that's your ute in your avatar and you haven't already flared, rolled and cut your guards, I don't think they'll fit. So in that regard 16's would be a better option as they'll be easier to fit.

As for driveabilty once they're on 17's on other cars ride fine IMO but i wouldn't like to be doing a track day on them in a 1200 for fear of ripping a guard off with scrubbing lol.
