Hey everyone I'm wondering if someone can help me, I saw in a pic on this site (I think) of a bright purple ute with an FJ20 in the engine bay he had a brand new plate where he could stamp on the enigne capacity, engine number and everything so it all looked stock, I need something like this as my car doesn't have both tags just the one which says what ADR's it has been designed and built to.

I suppose you are talking about the Datsun build plate.

You could get them from Datsun a long while ago, I got a single unstamped one on Ebay about 4 years go from an American.

So they are around, I wonder if Nissan parts can still supply it?

yeah the local nissan dealers just laugh at me when I ask about datsun stuff, and say "Nah nothing that old here mate", which I say well obviously can you get it in and they flat out say No.....

Phone around, not all Nissan dealers are wankers to deal with, Unley Nissan in South Aus are absolutely fantastic, the parts guy loves going through the old microfiche, keeps his job interesting.

Coupe: 96901-H1700
Both #'s come up as no longer available, but maybe the part #'s can help with your search. BTW these are USA #'s

You can now buy new I.D plates for Datsuns or any other type of vehicle for that matter. They can custom make them and put any engine on there that you want.
