about a month ago a friend offered me a 1200 saloon for parts i was talking about putting a turbo on my 1200 coupe but was worried it might strain the motor so he made the offer of the saloon, now i'm still waiting for him to drop it off haven't seen it and don't know where it is .so tonight i rang his friend to see if he could shed some light on its location ,he said its rare because its a 1200sss???now i know there was a 1600sss but feel he's talking s### about the 1200 if the car materialises is there such a thing and what constitutes a SSS thanks in anticipation

1200 SSS was a New Zealand Special.
Just like the 1200 S1 was a Portugal Special.

Could it be there was a European Special? or is it just the private import of some New Zealander

dont know, didn't know there was such a thing. long way to bring a car from, hope to see it on sunday how will i know anyone can put symbols on cars its possible it could have the 1600 motor in it i'd be delighted if it has straight in to my coupe

Anythings possible. I know a guy here in NZ who has a northern hemisphere assembled LHD 79 KB310 sunny coupe. It was bought into the county used by some Dutch person who moved here. (So the story goes)
Years ago My old man moved to Aussie and took his car with him, ('51 nash ambassador) and back again when he came home. As well as an XW falcon GT he bought new in Aussie came back when he came home for good. Things were a bit different back then though.

thats a bit of a coincidence ?my 1200 coupe was lying in a shed for 8 years near dublin it was in a sorry state but is close to being finished but when looking for parts i got a phohe call from a dutch fella telling me there was a coupe near dublin i told him i had it and he said he bought it in the UK new and later moved to ireland and sold the car here, but he's still in holland,there are a few lads who bring classic cars in from down under but only since the economic boom of the last 10yrs.

went to look at the datsun today its clean but not a 1200 but a 100a f11 don't know where he got 1200sss from, probably just a ruse to get me there. but i might buy it ,just needs a touch up on the front wings he wants
