The wife and I have a couple of spare CA bellhousings. Problem is it would probably be fairly expensive to ship from Sydney to Brissie.

If you're struggling to find one up your way let us know. You could have the actual bellhousing for the price of a schooner (a Sydney schooner that is).

I'll check after Easter as I may have to ring around. Aussie Post certainly won't deliver something this size.

EDIT: Now that I think about it I'm pretty sure the CA20 bellhousing doesn't separate from the gearbox. Just thought I'd add that as I re-read my last post here.

whorria
i have sent a bellhousing with australia post before to qld
its within the weight and size so you will have no problem at all sending it to qld

also slug 1200
i also have a c4 ready to go but the custom stall converter cost a fortune way more then the bellhousing to be made along with the special spigot bearing

how much did you pay to get it made???
and where from???

Demo i WORK for Aussie Post and I struggle getting somethings sent due to size and weight, it may just depend on who serves you at a Retail Post outlet and as to how much they actually know about things.

if you work at aus post you should know that its perfectly normal to send something as small and light as a bellhousing
i have sent a few before and 1 went to qld
i have also sent and received alot bigger and heavier things with aus post such as
radiators
wheels
v8 extractors which are alot heavier and larger then a bellhousing

if ya boss said it cant be sent he or she is an idiot
and go to the next clossest aus post
but im 100% sure a bellhousing can be sent in a cardboard box as i have done a few times before

im looking at the aus post chart on my wall and it clearly states
19kg to 20 kg is the limit
it also says if its over this weight additional charges apply 1ce a price is agreed on
and the deemed weight(parcels volume incubic meters x 250 is also way under the limit
a bellhousing is no where near this weight and if it was you can still send it unless the post office refuses as they have the rite to refuse if over the limit
and even if that was the case you work at the post office so it wouldnt be an issue
but it could be double the size and double the weight and they and you would still not have the rite to refuse it as it would be well below the limit

i sell lots of things every week and never been refused esspecialy with something as small as a bellhousing

Yeah, they probably would send it. But the bellhousing is bigger than you think. It won't fit in a beer carton, which is 8 volumetric kilo's. Probably looking at a box about 12-15kg's. At this weight the shipping would probably be about $30, which would not be worth his while.

I don't do things dodgy. I use oversized boxes and make sure the item is protected and secure. This makes it more expensive but insures the customer receives the goods undamaged. With items up to about 10kg the freight difference between AusPost and other couriers is negligible, but over 10kg's it may be more beneficial to check out other options (I work in logistics, working out this stuff is a daily occurence).

Bottom line is I don't wish to rip the bloke off. If he was in Sydney I'd get him to buy me a beer and I'd give it to him, it ain't worth that much. I don't know what he wants to pay but I personally wouldn't send it to him if the freight is more than $20.
